Autumn and Spring

Also known as the ‘valley of glaciers’, the Langtang region is a paradise-like destination that offers exquisite beauty in the mountains of Nepal. Encircled by the Langtang National park, the most precious part of this trek is to explore the wide ranges of floral and faunal species and to enjoy the spectacular beauty of the Himalayas and glaciers. Langtang trail is an awe-inspiring region to know the history of Tamang heritage cultures of the Himalaya region. Throughout the journey to the Langtang National park, you will get the chance to see the enchanting waterfalls, snow-covered mysterious peaks, the beautiful ethnic village of Langtang, marvelous highland Himalayan views, some mountain passes, amazing flora, and fauna. A great view of Yala peak, Langtang Ri, Langtang Lirung, and Motomori peak enhances the spiritual ambiance to the visitors.

Although The Langtang region seems to be unexplored, it has gained popularity as the most popular trekking destination to observe the iconic Himalaya views. The major attractions of this region are Langtang valley, Gosaikunda, panch pokhari, Kyanjin Ri, Kyanjin Gompa, Ganja la pass, various monasteries, and gompas. This trek tends to be more tranquil to know the history, culture, and scenic beauty that Nepal is renowned for. Within the periphery of Langtang National Park, visitors are allowed to watch pandas, endangered musk deer, endangered goats, snow leopards, and many types of birds and butterflies.

Also named as the valley of the glacial masses trekking, Langtang trek offers a chance to visit the Himalayan glaciers from a very low altitude place. Moreover, a breathtaking view of Langtang Himalaya from the top of the Kyanjin Ri pleases the visitors with positivity and calmness. Contrary to other trekking destinations, this Langtang trek is taken to be the easiest one. The entire atmosphere of this region offers serene mountain streams, lush green slopes, pine woodland forests, and perfect views of Mount Langtang LIrung, Dorje Lakpa, Gang Cheenpo, and exquisite Ganesh Himal. Also, this trek makes you indulge in some sort of cultural insight. It provides grand opportunities to explore the mountain village adapted by the Tamang people. The culture, traditions, and lifestyles of Tamang People are guided by Tibetan Buddhist culture. Buddhist monasteries are also available there to be explored.

The doorway to the Langtang trek is the Syabru Besi which takes around 6 hours of drive from Kathmandu. Crossing the rivers several times together with oak and rhododendron forests, Syabru Besi trek begins to meet the Langtang Valley. Get into this trek to get the spellbound moment.

Day 2

Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi

The trek to Langtang valley starts with the Kathmandu-Syabru Bensi bus or jeep drive. We drive through the highway, following the Trishuli River. After that, we will move towards Dhunche, from where a clear view of Ganesh Himal is visible. Also, while meandering through the route, observe the terraced farmlands and surrounding green hills. The road after Dunche is off-road, which will remain the same until you reach Syabru Bensi.

Day 3

Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel

After breakfast, we get ready for 5 hours long hike along the Bhote Koshi River banks and Langtang Khola, crossing through suspension bridges. We will trek past the landslide zone towards Bamboo (1960m) and afterward towards Ramche (2400m). From here, the timberlands and delightful cascades go with us en route. If lucky, you might encounter creatures like Red Panda and Rhesus Monkey. Following the way, we show up at Gumanechok, a small settlement where Lama Hotel is. We will remain here for the night.

Day 4

Trek to Mundu via Langtang Village

We continue our trek from Lama Hotel and enjoy the mountain landscape with abundant waterfalls. As we reach the green meadows of Ghoda Tabela, we begin to see the white peaks of the Langtang range. Our trail continues to climb up the widening valley, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders. We pass a Buddhist monastery before reaching the Langtang village which was affected by the April 2015 earthquake. We continue on our trail to Mundu. Overnight in Mundu.

Day 5

Mundu to Kyangjin Gompa

Trekking past Langtang officially moves us above the tree line, allowing you the opportunity to experience a more typically-Himalayan landscape, one rife with wiry grass, juniper, and shrubs. As our trail ascends we’ll pass Sindum and Yamphu, and then cross the Laja Khola. Prepare for one of the most dramatic moments of our journey as we scale a glacial moraine for epic views of the Kyanjin Gompa and icefall flowing from Langtang Lirung. Snap some pictures, and then square your shoulders for just a bit more walking to gain Kyanjin Gompa, the home of a well-known Buddhist monastery (for which it is named!). We’ll visit the gompa itself after lunch, and also stop in on a yak-cheese manufacturing plant. If you’ve any energy left, join us for a hike to the flag-topped peak of Kyanjin Ri, located just north of Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 6

Stay in Kyangjin Gompa

We'll be up before dawn at 5:30 and eating a quick breakfast, all the better to get started on our climb to the top of Tserko Ri. The early wake-up call will be forgiven as the indescribable splendor of a Langtang Himalayan sunrise plays out before your eyes. Enjoy phenomenal panoramas of Langtang Lirung, Langshisa Ri, Gyanghempo, Ganjala, and Naya Kang. Sweeping views of the Langtang valley and glacial icefalls can also be seen here. We get back to Kyangjin Gompa by late afternoon and explorethe beautiful monastery while enjoying views of the Himalayas, glaciers, birds and yaks.

Day 7

Kyangjin Gompa to Lama hotel

Early morning after breakfast, we trek downhill towards Lama hotel. The beauty that drew us to Langtang follows us as we begin our trek back in the direction of home. Keep your eyes open for animal life, and do take time to appreciate the marvelous loveliness and diversity of the forests' flora. Overnight at Lama hotel.
