Sagarmatha National Park is regarded to be the home of worls tallest mountain Mount Everest which is the second national park of Nepal and was inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. Sagarmatha National Park covers an area of 1148 kilometer square which is in the Solukhumbu district. This park is established to preserve the extraordinary landscape of Himalayan mountains include the world’s highest peak, which inclides Mount Everest. Additionally, four mountains that are higher than 8000 meters, are in this national area. For travelers all over the world this area is regarded to be the famous hiking zone. Its high altitude is the major focal point of this area.

Moreover, it is the home place of world's highest peaks including glaciers, rivers, valleys, and mountains. The major glaciers of Nepal Khumbu, Ninja, Ngoszumpa, Nangpa exist in in this park. Similarly, Lhotse, Cho Oyu and Nuptse are the major peaks we find in this area are Sagarmatha,and Dudh koshi, Bhote koshi, and Imja Khola are the major rivers that cross from this park.  

Moreover, lots of varieties of Flora and Fauna can be seen here. including Red panda and Snow leopard it is also regarded to be the conservation site for various rare animals and birds. However, this place is the perfect spot for bird watching and mountaineering. More basically, this park is surrounded by gorges, rugged landscape, towering mountains from the Himlayas, and Mount Everest rests as the ideal destination.  Additionally, Gokyo Lake is the main attraction of this park which was inscribed in the Ramsar Site in 2007. 

However, most of the people in this area practice Buddhism and Tibetan culture. Similarly, it is anticipated that people in that area are from Tibet who follow the same trend till now. However, one should be informed of the pleasant weather before going to this park. When temperatures go below freezing due to the intense cold of winter, the summer season is considered to be the best time to visit this location.

How to reach Sagarmatha National Park:

The Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla is the nearest airport to the Sagarmatha National Park. However, visitors must first fly from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport, which has flights to Lukla that take less than half an hour. Moreover, travelers can reach Sagarmatha via trekking for two days from Lukla. You can fly to Phaplu or Tumlingtar and then hike to Sagarmatha if you want to travel for a longer amount of time, which takes about five days from Phaplu and 10 days from Tumlingtar.
