Life in the Himalayas

The Himalayan region is in the country's northern section. This region can be found from east to west. Similarly, some of the world's tallest peaks can be found in this regions. Moreover, the area is always snow-covered and freezing. In the Himalayan region crops are grown, animals are raised, and carpets and wool are manufactured in enormous amounts. The Himalayan region is covered with white snow, and it is very cold and snowy every month of the year. Therefore, people are always on warm clothes and attire. 

All the Himalayan people living in the Himalayan region are dependent on nature. They have strong ethnic and religious links. On the other hand, people from himalayan region are primarily peace-loving. While visiting various Himalayan destinations this is something that can be fully appreciated. Moreover, their wonderful welcome demonstrates that they are completely mindful of the environment in which they live and that their difficult living conditions have no effect on their spirits or mode of living.

Now a days, there has been development in the living standard of people living in the Himalayas region but they still somehow follow the traditional way of living. They do occupation like farming, animal farming, trading, and so on. Therefore, Agriculture is the primary source of livelihood for the people who live in the himalayan region they grow Maize, millet, potatoes, fruit, and vegetables. One of the most common jobs is animal farming in mountains. Similarly, raise cows, sheep, mountain goats (Chyangra), yaks, and other animals that provide milk, cheese, butter, meat, and other products. 

Some cottage industries exist. Moreover, they use the raw wool of the sheep to make carpets, blankets, and other items. For their use, they also produce thick woolen jackets. Animal products are used to make cheese, butter, and ghee. 

Additionally, Apples are famous in the Mustang and Jumla areas of Nepal. There are many apple-related industries in himalayan region of Nepal. People of mountain region of Nepal engage in barter commerce with Tibetans. Since, they also transport local items such as carpets, skins, herbs, fruit, and wool to the country's Terai and major cities. However, Transportation is the toughest issue in this region. Air services have recently been established between Taplejung, Lamidanda, Faplu, Jomsom, Shyangboche, and Jumla, among other places in this region. 

Mostly people in this region consume carbohydrate like 'Dhindo' (a type of maize or millet pudding), bread, potato, and meat. They also have a distinct form of tea made from tea leaves, salt, and ghee which gives heat to their body. Most of the houses in this area are single-story. Likewise, some have stone roofs, while others have thatch roofs. The locals dress in heavy woolen garments which helps to protect them from cold weather. The women wear gold, silver, and copper decorations which make them attractive and beautiful. The himalayan region Men, like women, have long hair. 

Moreover, the individuals from himalayan region are physically fit and healthy because of their physical works. The himalayan region of Nepal is under develop so only some of the locations also have health clinics and health posts. Locals used to have to travel down to the mountainous region for education. 

Sherpas, Loomis, and Lopas are the locals and most of the population in this area. They follow Buddhists religion. Moreover, they celebrate the Losar festival, which takes place in the month of Magh every year. 

All month of the year this area has a chilly, dry, and windy. However, this is a home place for Sherpas, Bhotias, and Thakalis. People are still living their lives there even though life is hard in the Himalayas. However, the education system, transportation facilities, and other facilities are still backward but are growing continuously. The region is developing in the tourism sector because of its breathtakingly beautiful environment and surroundings. Mostly travelers people use air transportation to reach the Himalayan region which is helping people to upgrade their living standards.
