Kalinchowk is a religious place. w Bhagwati is located at a height of 3842m, in Kalinchowk Rural Municipality, Dolakha district of Nepal and falls under Gaurishankar Conservation Area. This location is 150 kilometers away from Kathmandu and which is a 7 hours’ drive to Kuri village. As it is near Kathmandu valley Kalinchowk itself is very famous among Nepalese and specially people like going to Kalinchowk during winter season as it snows during winter season.

Moreover, Kalinchowk has become one of the most travelled destinations by the people of Nepal and foreigners. Moreover, Kalinchowk is famous as the hindu pilgrimage site and majestically beautiful view of nature and mountains. Mountains like Langtang himal, Jugal himal, Ganesh himla, Gaurishankar himal, Dorje Lakpa etc are visible. The amazingly snowfall at the top of Kalinchowk hills which makes you feel like you are in a paradise. Therefore, Kalinchowk is also known as the “Switzerland of Nepal.”

Additionally, the name Kalinchowk is named after the goddess’s name Kali which is related to power and destruction. However, there is believed that in Dwapar Yuga, Pandavs came here for meditation. It is believed that Goddess Kali used to meditate on the top- hill Kalinchowk, on Sumeru Parvat.

Best season to visit Kalinchowk Bhagwati

In the context of Kalinchowk, the place is more visited during winter as it snows during that time and people like visiting while it’s snow falling and watch the majestic view. But while it’s not snowing, it is better to visit during Autumn season as the view gets clearer and fun to watch around the beautiful warm panoramic scenery.

 How to reach Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple

The trip to Kalinchowk is short. As the place is near Kathmandu valley, we can reach Kalinchowk in one day's drive. 

Day 1- Early morning drive of 6-7 hours from Kathmandu to Kuri village

Day 2- Early morning sightseeing of Kalinchowk Bhagwati Temple and return back to Kathmandu.
