The sparkling, pristine blue and green water of Gokyo Lakes is one of Nepal's mesmerizing sights. It is considered as a sacred place by both Hindus and Buddhists as the site is worshipped as the residing place of ‘Nag Devta’ (Snake God) and around 500 Hindus take baths in the holy lake during Janai Purnima which usually occurs in August.

However, Gokyo is one of the most popular tourist destinations leading towards the Sagarmatha base camp and other areas. Gokyo can be the perfect destination for those people who want to trek in the Everest region with a variety of views and fewer nights spends at very high altitudes. Best season to visit Gokyo Lake

The favorable time to travel to Gokyo lake is during spring, March to May, and Autumn. September to November in these months, the weather is more likely to be clear and the daytime temperature warm. The Khumbu region, however, is particularly cold and dry, and many trekkers develop the ‘Khumbu Cough’ due to dry dust. It is possible to travel during the summer/monsoon or winter season, but the weather does not seem to be very clear during those times.
