Nepal, called the "Country of Lakes," offers breathtaking outlooks of mother nature's tranquil combination with the cool, calm ambiance of water sources. Similarly, Nepal is a wonderland for travelers who desire to explore the glaciers lakes that are easily reachable. Nepal is well-known as a water-based tourist destination although it is landlocked country. The country is rich in rivers and basins covered with hills and mountains from all over. Nepal offers the views of mesmerizing, beautiful glaciers lakes. However, these lakes may be small in comparison but hold some mysterious secrets.

Moreover, some of the lakes are as blue as the beautiful sky. Watching lakes may not be to everyone's taste but getting there will be worthwhile at the end. Nepal offers beautiful lakes and rivers apart from mountaineering and trekking in mountains and hills. You can fly on a Helicopter and still experience the mesmerizing beauty of the lakes of Nepal if you cannot invest your days and days walking but want to experience the beautiful view of lakes then.

1. City of Lakes, Pokhara

Pokhara is one of the famous tourist destinations in Nepal. People often visit Pokhara to spend holidays and weekends with friends and family. Pokhara is the starting point of many trekking routes. Similarly, travelers spend their night before starting the journey and after the trek ends.

Pokhara is known as the city of lakes because of its numerous lovely lakes. Lakes are the soul of Pokhara city. Similarly, Pokhara's caves and temples are also popular tourist destinations here in Nepal. Many people believe Pokhara is mainly known for the lakes of Phewa and Begnas. Pokhara city is surrounded by seven more beautiful lakes. Moreover the lakes of Rupa, Khaste, Dipang, Maidi, Gude, Niureni, and Kamal lies in Pokhara. All lakes of Pokhara is fresh water lake. 

2. Gosaikunda Lake

Gosaikunda lake is one of the holiest lake of Nepal.  Gosaikunda is located in the Rasuwa district of Nepal. It is a three-day hike from Kathmandu and is located at an altitude of 4,300 meters in Langtang National Park. Moreover, Lord Shiva is said to have built this to satiate his thirst after ingesting poison. Holy lake Gosaikunda is famous for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage. Likewise, the trek to Gosaikunda lake is considered one of the shortest and the easiest treks in Nepal. There are also more lakes nearby to quench your need, such as Bhairavkunda and Suryakunda, which you may see and enjoy. You can get the view of Himalayan range from this lake. Additionally. for those who lack availability of time and cannot walk for days due to their physical health, the Heli ride would be the perfect option.

3. Rara Lake

Rara is the most beautiful water tourist spot in Nepal. Rara lake is the country's largest freshwater lake, located in Rara National Park in the Mugu district of Nepal. Moreover, the water is so clear that you can see the sky reflected on it, turning it blue. The area has seen a surge in tourism in recent years, Because of its simple road access. You can watch many different indigenous fish species in rara lake which are the major attractions of Rara Lake. The lake is known for its Snowtrout fish. This lake is a major pilgrimage destination for Nepalis. Rara lake can be visited by helicopter ride too.

4. Shey-Phoksundo Lake

This lake is situated in the Dolpa district of Nepal. This lake is Nepal's deepest lake. The best way to get to this water tourist site is to trek the entire national park. Moreover, the stunning turquoise color of Phoksundo Lake is so mesmerizing to watch, as well as the spectacular surroundings, place it among the world's most scenic mountain parks. There are numerous lovely glaciers near and above the lake area.

Moreover, the trek to Shey-Phoksundo lake can be completed within 9 to 10 days. Trek is not that difficult it is modorate the Shey Phoksundo Lake Trek is a quick and simple excursion to one of Nepal's largest and most beautiful lakes. 

5. Tilicho Lake

Tilicho is a place that visitors will never forget. It is situated in the Manang district of Nepal, route to Tilicho is difficult but it not impossible to reach.  However, once you arrive, you will be surprised by what you see. Similarly,  Tilicho is said to be the world's highest lake. It is a lovely place to visit here in Nepal.

6. Gokyo Lake

The Everest region's treasure is Gokyo. Although it is quite cold outside, the views of the lake from Gokyo Ri are too beautiful to pass up. You can also see Everest from afar and spend time at Namche Bazar, widely known as the Sherpa capital if you climb up to Gokyo.

7. Panch Pokhari

Panch Pokhari in Sindupalchok is mostly renowned as a pilgrimage place. It is also a water tourism destination in Nepal. The location mesmerizes you with sunrises, sunsets, and five little ponds, not to mention the towering Jugal Himal from whence the sun rises. To visit panch pokhari November is the greatest month to visit since the sky is clear and the vistas are spectacular.

8. Tsho Rolpa

This glacial lake, situated in Dolakha's Rolwalling valley, is rarely visited. Apart from the lake, you can walk to isolated villages and see Gaurishankar up close. The journey to this water tourist location is difficult, but it is filled with wonderful natural features that make it a trip worthwhile to take.

9. Kapuche Glacier Lake

Situated inside the Gurung village Sikles of Kaski district, Kapuche, another glacier lake, resembles a pond more than a lake. It's a little area that used to be covered in ice only a few decades ago. Just to observe how much the Himalayas have been impacted by global warming, the location is worth visiting. It is also a location where several avalanches from Annapurna II's high peaks fall into the glacier.
