Bardia National Park

Bardia national park is the protected area in Nepal. This park is established as a Royal Bardia National Park in 1988. Vardia national park consists of an area of 968km2. However, this national park is regarded to be the largest and most undisturbed national park in Nepal’s Terai. It is split by the Babai River in Bardia district, and it connects the eastern banks of the Karnali River. The main objective to establishing the Bardia National Park is to conserve the representative ecosystem and the habitat of the tiger and its species. 

In 1976 a small place was officially announced as Karnali Wildlife Reserve in the beginning. For the better flourishment of vegetation and wildlife resources around 1500 households of Babai valley were moved outside the park. Moreover, in 1982 this place was retitled Bardia Wildlife Reserve, and it was enlarged in its current size in 1984. Moreover, this place was given the rank of National Park in 1988.

Moreover, this place has great historical significance. Nepal lost this place to the East India Company in the Sugauri Treaty in 1815. However, Nepal got this place back for supporting the suppression of the Indian Independence Movement in1857 later in 1860. 

This park has preserved the wildlife and nature very beautifully considered to be remote and secluded land. Bardia national park is the home to so many mammals such as Leopards,Tigers, Wild Elephants,One-Horned Rhinoceros,Swamp Deer, Black Buck, Crocodiles and Gangetic Dolphin and bird species such as Bengal Florican, Lesser Florican, White-rumped Vulture, Bar-headed Geese and so on. This national park is the major wildlife sighting destination. 

Moreover, watching all these mammals from a distance and bird watching gives such an adventurous feel to the traveler. Various species of fish can be seen in the waters of Karnali and Babai rivers. The entire surroundings of Bardia National Park are exquisite and tranquil which is a renowned place for ferocious Bangali Tigers.

However, in comparison to their visit to Chitwan National Park tourists are afraid to visit this place. The wilderness of Bardia National Park is unspoiled by modernization and urbanization. Moreover, Bardia National Park Jungle Safari is the best option to enjoy the sublime beauty of the park and to explore every part of the park very deeply. The major attraction of this place is the Breeding Centres of Elephants, Crocodiles and Rhinos. Similarly, Jeep safari and Elephant Safari can be done to observe the entire surrounding. Moreover, one can do trekking and jungle walks to observe the wildlife in close calls.

Furthermore, you can do rafting and canyoning in the water of Karnali river to watch the greenery surroundings. In the same manner the murmuring sound of the river and chirping sound of the birds provide heaven-like pleasure for those who travel bardia national park. 

Moreover, the floral and faunal beauty of the park fascinates the gaze of every traveler. And if you want to get knowledge on the culture and traditions of Tharu people the nearby village provides it. However, you can visit village by either by cycling or biking. The enchanting views of lush grasslands, rivers, wetlands, forest in its peak canopy gives extra energy and a spiritual vibe to the visitors during the park. Additionally, one must visit Bardia National Park to observe the endangered species and to enjoy the entire isolated land.
