Bandipur Tour

Bandipur is the historical city located143 km away from the Kathmandu valley, there lies a beautiful village Bandipur in the Tanahun district of Nepal. The bandipur city used to be the trading route between India and Tibet. However, Bandipur is more famous for the Newari town and is known as the hidden gem of Nepal. The arrival of the Newars from Bhaktapur in the 19th century marked the beginning of Bandipur's history. However, before that it was largely populated by Magars.

Now a days, Brahmins, Chhetries, Newars, Damais, Kamis, Sarkis, Magars, Gurungs, and Kasais are among the ethnic groups that now call Bandipur home. Moreover, when Prithvi Narayan Shah conquered Kathmandu valley Newar merchants picked Bandipur as a trading route between the northern highlands and the southern flatland. The merchants erected their homes in a style, architecture, and culture that represented their own. Similarly, Pagoda-style roofs, lattice windows, and decorative doors characterize the houses.

The identity of Bandipur village is traditional village architecture, spectacular Himalayan views, delightful rural hikes, local adventure sports, and good lodging. Moreover, it is a great way to take a break from the trip between Pokhara and Kathmandu while getting a taste of rural Nepal. Bandipur is, above all, a great place to explore in your own time. Visit the temples, meander through the beautiful backstreets, and overall enjoy a slower pace of life reminiscent of an earlier age. That isn't to say that modern pleasures aren't present.
